A simple, human process

When you call Forrest Behavioral Health, you talk to a real member of our admissions team, not a call center. Most people are speaking with a clinician about next steps within 24 hours, and many start treatment within a few days.

Call or request a callback

Call (781) 570-5781 or fill out the short form on our contact page. We answer questions, listen, and never pressure anyone.

Free insurance check

Give us your insurance details and we confirm your coverage, usually the same day. Harvard Pilgrim and Tufts members are in-network; we verify all other plans at no cost.

Clinical assessment

A licensed clinician meets with you (in person or by video) to understand what you’re dealing with and recommend the right level of care.

Start treatment

We schedule your first day, walk you through what to bring, and introduce you to your primary therapist and group.

Who we help

Forrest treats adults (18+) dealing with substance use, mental health conditions, or both at the same time. Our programs are built for people who need more structure than weekly therapy but do not need, or have already completed, inpatient or detox care. If you need medical detox first, we’ll help you find it and coordinate your transition to us afterward.

Levels of care

Day Treatment (PHP)

Five days a week of structured group and individual therapy while you sleep at home. Our most intensive option.

Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

About three hours a day, several days a week. Room for work, school, or family alongside treatment.

Evening IOP

The same intensive program in the evening for people who work or study during the day.

Outpatient (OP)

Weekly individual and group sessions to maintain progress after a higher level of care.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can I start?

In most cases within a few days of your assessment. If you’re in crisis, tell us and we’ll prioritize you.

Do I have to stop working?

No. Our IOP, Evening IOP, and Outpatient programs are designed around work and school schedules. Day Treatment is a full-day commitment on weekdays.

Can family members call on someone’s behalf?

Yes. We speak with family every day. We can explain options and help you plan a conversation, though the person entering treatment will need to consent to their own care.

What if I don’t have insurance?

Call us anyway. We’ll talk through options and, if we’re not the right fit, point you toward resources that are.

Is Forrest a detox or residential facility?

No. We provide day treatment, intensive outpatient, and outpatient care. If you need detox or residential care first, we’ll help you find it and coordinate your step-down to Forrest.

Take the first step today

Call us any time for a confidential conversation. We’ll answer your questions, check your insurance at no cost, and help you decide whether Forrest is the right fit — no pressure.
