The high-functioning trap

Professionals often reach treatment late because the outside looks fine: the job is intact, the bills are paid, the calendar is full. Inside, drinking has become nightly, the anxiety is constant, sleep is gone, or the depression is being managed through sheer force of will. The competence that built your career is now the thing hiding the problem, and it usually holds until it suddenly doesn’t.

Discretion

Our Bedford location is private, with on-site parking and no signage that announces what happens inside. Your treatment is protected by HIPAA and federal confidentiality law; we don’t contact employers, boards, or colleagues without your written consent. Where hybrid or virtual participation is clinically appropriate, it may be available. Ask admissions.

Licensed professionals

Physicians, nurses, attorneys, pilots, and others in licensed fields sometimes have monitoring or reporting obligations tied to their license. We understand these programs and can work within them. If you’re unsure what your obligations are, it’s worth a confidential conversation before you decide anything.

What treatment addresses

Beyond the immediate issue, treatment for professionals usually involves the drivers underneath: perfectionism, chronic stress, an inability to switch off, and the belief that needing help is failure. CBT, DBT, and individual therapy target those directly, and group with peers who’ve been there is often the most valuable hour of the day.

Frequently asked questions

Will anyone at my company find out?

Not from us. Insurance claims go to your health plan, not your employer, and your plan does not share diagnoses with HR.

Can I keep working during treatment?

Most professionals in IOP and Evening IOP do. Day treatment generally requires leave for its duration.

Do you offer completely virtual treatment?

Some components may be available virtually depending on your program and clinical needs. Ask admissions about current options.

A confidential conversation, on your terms

Call us any time for a confidential conversation. We’ll answer your questions, check your insurance at no cost, and help you decide whether Forrest is the right fit — no pressure.
