Research indicates that military veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) are at an increased risk for substance abuse and addiction compared to their non-PTSD counterparts. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), about one out of every three veterans seeking treatment for substance abuse problems also has PTSD. Moreover, a national survey by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) found that nearly 20% of veterans with PTSD also struggle with substance abuse. Veterans diagnosed with PTSD are also more likely to have co-occurring mental health disorders, such as depression and anxiety, which can worsen substance use and lead to addiction.
Additionally, it is important to note that not all veterans who experience PTSD develop a substance use disorder, and not all veterans with substance use disorders have PTSD. However, the co-occurrence of these conditions is common and requires specialized treatment that addresses both issues simultaneously. Overall, these statistics highlight the urgent need for improved treatment options and resources for veterans dealing with PTSD and substance abuse. It is critical that veterans have access to comprehensive and effective care in order to overcome the challenges they face after serving our country.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
A day treatment program, also known as day treatment, offers a structured and intensive form of outpatient treatment for those seeking recovery from addiction. This program is ideal for individuals who require more support than traditional outpatient services but do not need 24-hour supervision. In PHP, clients participate in daily therapeutic activities and counseling sessions, typically five days a week for several hours each day. This treatment option provides a balanced approach, allowing clients to live at home or in a sober living environment while benefiting from a comprehensive, structured treatment schedule, focusing on relapse prevention, coping strategies, and skill-building for a sober life.
Outpatient Program (OP)
